Sunday Funday

Last Sunday was a busy day.  We had to drive up to Josh's parent's farm in northern Iowa to pick up a vehicle for Josh to drive (he sold Big Blue, his truck, on Friday after work - more on that at some point).  Anyway, we took Sophie with us because she has been really antsy lately.  She loves the farm.  It's probably her favorite place on earth.  She can run and play freely there - without a leash.  We were only there for about twenty minutes, but it was long enough for Sophie to run like crazy, let her beard blow in the breeze, and meet some pigs.  She was not a lover of the pigs.  But she did try something new (or smell something new).

Sophie loves car rides!

Sophie loves running around at the farm.

Sophie was a little scared of the pigs.

Exhausted puppy on the car ride home.
Sophie was a great passenger on the way home.  She slept most of the way.  Since Ames was on our way from Lake Mills to Ankeny, we stopped by the Kappa house so I could drop off a little study bag with the girl I advise.  It was great to see Annie, but I was super excited to have Sophie visit Kappa.  I'm sure if she were a person, she would want to be a Kappa.  Really, what girl wouldn't?

Sophie looks great posing in front of the sign.

After we visited Kappa, we drove to Altoona to have dinner at my mom's house.  Dina's birthday was the Monday I was in Chicago for KBIS, and we didn't have a chance to celebrate.  So, mom made cabbage rolls, and we had a Reese's ice cream cake from Dairy Queen.  It was delicious and fun to have a family get-together.

Dina's 31st birthday dinner.
