Makeup (Almost) Mastered

I've been attempting to master my makeup for the past year - primarily my eye makeup.  It always feels like a hassel, but I want to want to love doing it.  I have a co-worker who inspires me to be a pro at makeup application.  She's fabulous.  I aspire to have her skills one day...

Anyway, I'm me.  I'm not flashy and I don't typically do anything fancy with my makeup.  Keep it simple, right?

I've had a few sessions with wonderful Patrick from Vanity & Glamour over the past year or so, but today I think I'm feeling good enough about my eye makeup to cross that off my 30 before 30 list.  I have to admit, starting with eye primer helps a lot.

Dining Room Makeover

I finally did it.  I hung some artwork, which means the dining room is officially finished (read more about the dining room here).  Picking out artwork and photos is a personal thing to me that takes time.  I'm happy with where I landed, but would be happy to add to the wall at some point.  As a wise woman once told me, "A good house is never done."

I also hung two little pictures on the wall in the living room (thank you Instagram for making my pictures look cooler and FoxGram for printing them.  Once I get a hammer, I just can't help myself...

My First Bracket

I filled out a bracket with my predicted winnings for the NCAA basketball tournament this year. I don't follow sports (other than Iowa State...loosely), but a 13-year-old boy asked me to fill it out. How could I say no to him? Obviously, I have Iowa State slated to win. I picked my selections based on if I knew someone who attended the school. It was highly scientific. We'll see how this year's March Madness plays out. So far, I'm doing well with my Iowa State prediction (they won over Notre Dame tonight).

Before & After: Julio's Haircut

One of my friends has a super lovely cat named Julio.  Julio is adorable, but sheds a lot.  So, he got a little haircut.  It's hilarious.  If I had a cat, I would shave him just like this.  If you want to see more Julio photos, follow him on Instagram.
