plaid and polka dots

Last weekend, my sister took our family pictures.  I am starting to work our Christmas card (so many design choices!), and the first step was a nice family photo.  Since I found Sophie's navy and pink sweater first (thank you, TJ Maxx), I built the wardrobe for me and Josh around that.  (Isn't that what everyone does?  Plans their wardrobe based on what their dog is wearing?  Ok, maybe not, but I do.)  I opted for plaid for Josh and polka dots for me.  I like how they work together.  I'll like it even more once Sophie writes her annual Christmas letter (see 2012's card here) and I finish designing the Christmas card...

fab finds: to: hello beautiful

Sometimes, Pinterest has some quite inspiring and beautiful images on it...like today, when I stumbled upon the image below.

And then, I stumbled upon To: Hello Beautiful.  It's a rather delightful online destination if you're in to looking at pretty jewelry and accessories.  And the best part: you can actually afford to purchase the jewelry and accessories.  They even have a lovely digital magazine that's quite impressive.  Check it out.  I love it and hope you will, too.

Fab Finds: Very Jane

I'm all about finding a good deal.  When Jennifer shared this site with me, I got a little excited.  I've been over Groupon and Living Social for a while now (I hate that you have to buy a deal, and then hope you remember to use it before it expires), so I haven't even been open to looking at "deal" websites.  However, I really like Very Jane.  You get daily emails for cute things you can buy that day.  You place your order, and it gets mailed to you.  Here are some great things they're selling today.

$29.99 blazers
$7.99 custom wood ornaments
$19.99 pave chain link bracelets
$4.99 earrings
$8.99 custom mugs

The Kate Obsession Continues

Kate and Prince William are on a diplomatic overseas tour right now, so they're being photographed in detail, (I've already admitted my admiration for the princess here and here.)  Below are some of my favorite outfits from her recent public events.  She can really rock a classic dress...

Then, the big news for Kate is a recent breach of privacy.  A French tabloid reportedly posted photos of Kate sunbathing topless at a private estate in the south of France.  I feel terribly for her.  She was just trying to relax before a whirlwind press tour.  At times like this, I have a grave distaste for the media...

I Heart Kate

I've loved Kate Middleton ever since she came on the Prince William scene years ago.  She was lovely and adoring...and then she became a princess and stepped up her game.  If I was 6'2" and lived near her, I'm sure we would share clothes.  Also, I think she would have made a perfect Kappa, but that's impossible now.  Oor is it...maybe she could be a honorary member like Lucy Webb Hayes, former President Rutherford B. Hayes' wife!  So, back to reality.  Kate Middleton dresses like I would if I were a member of the British family (and a foot taller).  Tonight, I stumbled upon a blog called What Kate Wore.  I'm pretty sure I'm obsessed.  I'm always looking online to see what Kate wore on random days, and now I have my source (people.com doesn't have the detail I need to keep up with Kate on a regular basis).

There you have it.  I love her style.  I think she would make an excellent (and classy) Kappa.  I think we could be friends.  Maybe one day I'll visit England, and we'll run into one another, and we'll talk all about our dogs, and then we'll become lifelong friends...ok, I'll stop now.
